Banana Chehab with Date Syrup Recipe

Chebab is a local Emirati pancake filled with cream cheese and drizzle by date syrup. (Photo by Roberto Fortuno)
You'll need the below kitchen equipment:
- Non-stick 22 inch Frying Pan
- Spatula
- Ladle 60ml
- Plates
- Sealed container
RECIPE FOR CHEBAB DOUGH 10PCS:
150g All Purpose Flour
150g Chaki Atta Wheat Flour
10g Rice Flour
25g White Sugar
10g Yeast
25g Nido milk powder
5g Cardamom Powder
4g Saffron - 1pinch diluted in Water
20ml Cooking oil
700ml Water
1g Ghee Oil (Brush after cooking)
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
SAAD Dates Syrup for drizzle
Filling: Banana or cream cheese
Mixed nuts for garnish
Method:
Prepare all the ingredients and scale it. Mix everything in a bowl and incorporate everything.
Cover with cling film and leave it for 30 mins. Preheat the the pan on low heat and damp with oil. Scoop the chebab batter using ladle (60ml) and pour into the pan. Cook in a low temp, when you see bubbles appear and thoroughly cook. Flip the chebab till golden brown. Brush with Ghee oil and put in a stainless container warmer.
Plating:
Take 2 pcs of chebab fill with Banana drizzle with date syrup, if you don’t like banana you can use cream cheese spread. Roll it and cut into two pieces. Places into plate drizzle with date syrup and garnish with mix nuts. Enjoy!
